Produced by the Kmetija Mahnic Winery in Dragonja in the south of Slovenia, this sweet wine is made from Cipro grapes which have been dried on the plant; Cipro is the name that the locals give to what we know as Moscato Rosa, a grape which is almost certainly of Balkan origin.
In the glass, in which we find that this wine has a dark amber colour, we also catch a pleasant scent of dried rose which is typical of this variety. This note is further enriched by hints of strawberry jam, chinotto (myrtle orange), dark chocolate and tamarind; as a whole, the bouquet is of a good quality, pleasant and of a good complexity. In the mouth, the Angeli Likor has an intense taste, but it is also harmonious thanks to its marked freshness and light tannins which balance the obvious sweetness.
Tasting carried out on 20 July 2015.
